Breaking the Mold: Contemporary Japanese and Chinese Ceramic Sculpture – April 24 – September 27, 2009 – From the prestigious Dai Ichi Gallery in New York City, this exhibit features the work of contemporary ceramicists from China and Japan, juxtaposing the themes of Chinese work relationships, social issues and human relationships with the Japanese attention to aesthetics of form, texture, color and materials. http://www.daiichiarts.com

Up Stream: Fly Fishing in the American West – June 20 – September 27, 2009 – An exhibition of photography by noted photographer and fly fisherman, Charles Lindsay. Lindsay visualizes the essence of fly fishing from the perspective of fishing alone in a trout stream. The images explore the experience both above and below the water.

Carbon: Science Fiction Worlds of Charles Lindsay – June 20 – September 27, 2009 – CARBON is a creation of fictitious worlds, drawing on Lindsay’s interest in the aesthetics of space exploration, microscopic discovery and abstract symbols. He is intrigued by the idea that so much of our expanding scientific knowledge is based on images from beyond our body’s normal scope of vision and interested in the challenge and implications of comprehending our relative scale within the universe. The ‘photographs’ are made from negatives which utilize a carbon emulsion on a transparent base – the result of experiments and manipulation. Numerous generations in the fluid’s history create minute evaporation trails, rendering an archeology of time. http://www.charleslindsay.com
