MCACA 2013 Mini-grants

MCACA POD Grants Available; Deadline February 1, 2013
Arts & cultural groups throughout northwest Michigan can apply for up to $1,500 in funding through the Michigan Council for the Arts & Cultural Affairs (MCACA) Regranting Program for professional and organizational development projects between March 1 and September 30, 2013. These grants are a new component of the MCACA “minigrants” and referred to as Professional and Organizational Development (POD) minigrants. The POD grants complement MCACA’s traditional project minigrants which fund arts and cultural programming. The MCACA regrant program for District 10 is being administered locally through NorthSky Nonprofit Network in Traverse City for Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee and Wexford counties.
The POD grants are designed to support organizational development, sustainability and capacity building which aids in extending arts and culture in local communities. This includes key staff attending professional training or conferences to gain resources that can then be shared with their organization to build capacity or for an organization to engage a consultant to work with staff, volunteers and board to address specific capacity building needs. Organizations may apply for up to $1,500 in funding which cannot exceed 75% of the total cost. A 25% match is required, which can be cash or in-kind.
All applications are submitted through the e-grant system. Deadline for submission is Friday, February 1, 2013. For questions or to receive guidelines by email or, please contact Mary Bevans Gillett, regrant coordinator, at 231-883-8388 or mgillett@chartermi.net.
