Well, it's getting to be that time again. Are you a nonprofit getting ready to file your Form 990 and have a bunch of questions (including the ones you are too embarrassed to ask)? This party is for you! Commonplace will host a 3-hour PARTY opening with Brian Beckwith, a CPA/JD walking through the different types of 990 forms, the basic forms and schedules, and program narratives. You'll also hear best practices for recording transactions in your accounting system to make your accountant's work easier and cheaper. (We wrote the "PARTY" part in caps to district you from the "tax filing" part.) The presentation will be followed by time in rotating party stations with more specific guidance on different 990 sections.

Brian Beckwith, JD, CPA, co-founded Current Consulting. He has public accounting experience, specializing in nonprofit audits and taxes, and sits on numerous nonprofit boards. Kate Redman, with Commonplace Law, is an attorney specializing in 501(c)(3) nonprofit legal issues.
