THE CHARLIE DANIELS BAND WITH SPECIAL GUESTS DETOUR Thursday, August 9, 8pm Over the past four decades, Charlie Daniels has embraced everything from country and bluegrass to rock, blues and gospel. His 1979 single “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” won a Grammy and propelled the band to international stardom. Opening will be Detour, a northern Michigan bluegrass band featuring 2001 National Banjo Champion Mike Sumner, Zak Bunce, Peter Knupfer, Scott Zylstra and Jeff Rose. |

BLUE LAKE NORTHERN WINDS CONCERT TO BENEFIT THE TRAVERSE CITY MUSIC BOOSTERS August 12 at 7 p.m. The Northern Winds, a Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp concert band that recently toured in Europe, will perform at Traverse City Central High School. Their concert benefits the Traverse City Music Boosters and is followed by an ice cream social hosted by members of the Central High School Band.
