March 25 – September 2, 2007 Spirits, Relics, and Rituals: The John Korachis Collection of African Art – Developed in partnership with the Midland Center for the Arts, this exhibition features over 60 works from this private collection. Geographically, the objects cover an area south of the Sahara Desert, down the west coast and through the central section of Africa. The regions which are represented include Sierra Leon, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Cameroon, Gabon and Republic of Congo.

Admission is $4.00 adults, $2.00 for children and free to museum members.

The Music House Museum opens its Thursday evening Chamber Concert Series, PRESENTS 2007, with the Trillium Singers, a female vocal quartet, on July 19 at 7:30 PM.

The following Thursday, the Young Artist Concert featuring area young performers Hanna Brammer, soprano, Josie Ballast, piano and Steven White, marimba continue the series.

The Music House Museum is located 1 1/2 miles north of Acme on US31. All concerts are on Thursday at 7:30PM. Adult admission is $7 and ages 7-16 are $3.

The Leelanau Community Cultural Center’s 15th annual “Art Leelanau” benefit and art exhibition will be held on July 27 from 5-8 pm.


This year’s art exhibit features the work of 90 Leelanau artists with live music by the John Lindeneau Quartet and hors d’oeuvres by Silvertree Deli.
