While many assessment tools exist, the tool used in conducting this organizational capacity assessment was originally developed by McKinsey and Company through a grant from the Marguerite Casey Foundation. Their original instrument was adapted (with their permission) by Ameen Consulting & Associates with input from the consulting team at NorthSky Nonprofit Network. NorthSky has used this tool with over 50 nonprofit organizations in Northwestern Michigan.
