Since 2007, we have worked to build strong, resilient communities by helping nonprofit organizations achieve and sustain excellence.

NorthSky Nonprofit Network is the capacity building program of Rotary Charities of Traverse City providing the region’s nonprofits, government and social enterprises with consulting, professional development, coaching services and tools to help build their capacity and support sustainability. NorthSky also serves as a conduit for new resources, securing state and national support and partnerships to bring technical and financial resources home to nonprofits and social enterprises in this region. As part of Rotary Charities’ mission, NorthSky also serves in leadership roles, participating and facilitating regional initiatives.

What We DO

NorthSky Nonprofit Network offers services in three main areas: free online resources, professional development & leadership coaching, and consulting. In addition, we administer the regional regranting program – also known as the minigrant program – for Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, which provides funding assistance for regional arts and culture projects in the ten-county region shown above.

Where We Work

NorthSky’s primary service area includes the ten-county region of northwest lower Michigan (Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee and Wexford), but we regularly work with organizations throughout Michigan and the Great Lakes Region.

The Leadership Coaching services provided through NorthSky have vastly improved our internal organization and communication. The results have been extraordinary and we are now poised for even greater success.
