"The New Volunteer: The Fundamentals of Managing Today’s Volunteers"
A strong volunteer base is a critical success factor for many nonprofit organizations and may be a key indicator of the organization’s health. With student community service requirements, younger retirees or workers seeking to connect in meaningful ways; the volunteer profile is changing. This session will provide an overview of best practice and trends in volunteer management including opportunities for using volunteers in your organization and creating volunteer role descriptions. We will provide a primer on managing volunteers including how to handle recruitment, absenteeism, volunteer orientation, ongoing supervision, and training needs. You will receive templates to assist in creating volunteer role descriptions, postings, and policies. Fee includes a continental breakfast and manual.
